NexLine Coax Adapter (NexLine) is a simple connector that
allows a building’s existing coaxial cable to be used as part of
an advanced digital access control system. NexLine does this
by providing a link to which digital readers can be connected to
the existing coaxial cable in a facility, then transferring data and
power over that coax to a digital controller. This allows facilities
to easily convert analog access control systems to advanced
digital technology without the cost of rewiring.
NexLine is a key component for providing an inexpensive
upgrade for Schlage Electronics, Westinghouse Security
Electronics and Honeywell systems to advanced digital
technologies. NexLine is compatible with all Honeywell
controllers that support digital technology, including: Honeywell
4100 Series, Alto 818SC Series, SE 422 Series controllers and
STAR® Series. Using NexLine with SE 422 Series or Alto
818SC Series controllers allows users to replace SE 2800 Series
analog readers with Honeywell’s award-winning DigiReader
digital proximity readers. Such an upgrade would allow sites to
take advantage of additional features like longer read ranges,
faster read times and multiple-technology access card
